Chapter 52 Sacramento, CA

Joe Williams      1919 - 2017

Joseph Godman WILLIAMS (1919 - 2017)

  • "Thankful for your service to our country Rest In Peace,..."
    - Patti Mamuzich

06/07/2017 Joseph was born in Bark River Michigan to Charles George Williams and Louise Anna Williams. Joseph is survived by his wife Nellie Segura Williams, daughters Jean and Jennifer, son Joseph, grandchildren, Joel and Danielle, four great-grand-children one great-great-grand-child, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends, closest of all being the Granby family and Donald Jones family. Joseph was preceded in death by his two brothers George and John. Joseph was a devout Catholic and member of the Holy Spirit Parish of Sacramento. Joseph had 8 years of service in the Army, Army Air Force and Air Force branches of the military. He worked with the Civil Aeronautics Administration/FAA in Alaska, Arizona, Palmdale and Arcata. Joseph retired from McClellan Air Force Base after 20 years working as an Airway Specialist. The many organizations that Joseph enjoyed being a part of included volunteering at the Sacramento Jazz Festival for 26 years, Golden Bears and Sacramento Round Ups RV clubs, EAA, CSEA, VFW, CSR Chapter 2 and Knights of Columbus 953. As a father, he enjoyed activities with his children such as skiing, camping, fishing and boating. His lifelong love since boyhood was aviation. He was a pilot and always dreamed of building his own plane. We wish to thank the Holy Spirit Parish ministry for all of the loving care and time spent in our behalf. "Absolute Compassion Hospice" came and amazed us with their skill and helped right when we needed it the most. We are truly grateful. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 16, 9:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Dr., Sacramento, CA.
