Chapter 52

Chapter 52 Sacramento, CA

William W. "Bill" Fincher

WILLIAM W. "Bill" FINCHER    1915-2012

Bill passed away Aug 28, 2012 at the age of 96.  He was a veteran of three wars (WWII, Korea, and Vietnam).  He bravely served his country as a Lt. Colonel with the USAF.  He was an active resident of Sacramento for 49 years who loved his home and cherished his wonderful neighbors.  Bill joined EAA 52 in 1979 and remained a member for 33 years to the present.  Bill has been laid to his final rest at East Lawn, Sacramento, California.

Like so many of the "Greatest Generation", Bill's contributions to our modern world were under-reported and under-acknowledged.  We do know that his squadron in the South Pacific saw plenty of action and that he was in-the-thick-of-it!

"Bill, you will be greatly missed by your long time friends at EAA 52".
